Your Toastmaster
A Toastmaster in his red tailcoat is a unique English tradition that is as relevant today as when it all first started in the eighteenth century. A Toastmaster adds a certain style, distinction and panache to any formal or informal ceremony, event or celebration. The Toastmaster offers the traditional services of greeting and announcing guests and introducing speeches and toasts, but combines these with the roles of advisor, organiser, presenter, communicator and diplomat. His duties relieve the host of worry and stress, and include overseeing the smooth running of the event.
Robert will be pleased to advise on the correct procedure in accordance with the accepted tradition, protocol, etiquette and social order, but of course the Host’s specific wishes prevail. Robert will act as a Master of Ceremonies in a formal or informal manner as required, and co-ordinate the event on the day so that Host and guests may relax and enjoy it, knowing that the agreed timings and formalities will be observed.
Prior to the occasion planning is of paramount importance to the smooth running of the event. Robert will advise on tradition, etiquette and protocol, and once the Host has decided on their requirements, will prepare a detailed order of proceedings.
Robert, who has 29 years experience as a Police Officer, is used to ‘thinking on his feet’ in order to deal calmly and efficiently with any situation that might arise.
Robert was trained by, and is a graduate of the prestigious UK School of Professional Toastmasters Ltd. In addition, he is Senior Vice President of the Association of the UK School of Professional Toastmasters.

Weddings: A Summary of Robert’s Services
Making a lifelong commitment is a special occasion for you, your partner, your family and friends. The build up to the big day can be nerve wracking. Using the services of a professionally trained Toastmaster will ensure YOUR special day is stress free.
Prior to the celebration I will meet with you, and later visit the venue for the reception. I will explain to you the traditional sequence of events, but you are of course free to add your own special touches.
On the day I will arrive in plenty of time at the venue to ensure all is as it should be. I will traditionally undertake the following duties: –
Greet the bride and bridegroom on their arrival to the wedding reception
Direct guests to all the facilities available at the wedding venue and ensure they are aware of the table plan
Assist the photographer and the videographer in gathering members of the bridal party
Assemble the bridal party to receive their guests and announce them
When all the guests are seated announce the entrance of the bride and groom and escort them to the top table
Announce grace
Supervise the cutting of the cake
Announce the speeches
